With the latest casualties, the Palestinian fatalities in Gaza have risen to 46,565 people killed and 109,660 injured since Israel started its genocidal war on Gaza on 7 October  2023, the ministry stated.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Civil Defense said that around 70 children have been killed during the past five days in the Israeli bombardment in Gaza.

Thousands of victims remain under the rubble, with the occupation preventing ambulance and civil defence teams from performing search and rescue efforts.

On Sunday, Israeli artillery and airstrikes on multiple areas of Gaza have killed at least six Palestinians, according to Al Jazeera.

Additionally, Israeli warships fired several shells at the coast of West Al-Nuseirat and the town of Al-Zawayda, coinciding with gunfire targeting the coast of the central Deir Al-Balah Governorate.

New report on detainee torture

On Sunday, the Palestinian news agency WAFA published a report by the Palestinian Authority’s Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society that detailed new, harrowing testimonies on torture from Gazans in detention in Israeli jails following visits to two Israeli prisons, Naqab and Nafha, according to a report in WAFA on Sunday.

The detainees' testimonies highlighted that Israeli prison guards used a shocking range of systematic and traumatizing torture methods against detainees, some of whom had been in Israeli jails for over a year, including violent beatings, starvation, and medical neglect, which scarred them physically and psychologically.

The report also found that many detainees suffered from the highly contagious skin disease scabies caused by medical neglect.

Israel has detained thousands of Palestinians it snatched throughout its 15-month-old war on Gaza, remanding them across a range of high-security prisons and military camps without charges or access to legal representation.

The Israeli army has also arrested more than 8,000 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, remanding them to various jails and military camps under similar torture and inhumane conditions, bringing up the number of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails to nearly 15,000.
