During the meeting, Abdelatty outlined Egypt's stance on the Syrian crisis, emphasizing the importance of preserving Syria's unity, national institutions, and sovereignty over its entire territory.

He stressed the need to advance an inclusive, Syrian-owned political process that encompasses all the Syrian people and aligns with UN Security Council Resolution 2254.

In addition, Abdelatty highlighted the necessity of intensifying regional and international efforts to combat terrorism, ensuring that no terrorist elements find sanctuary on Syrian soil, and preventing Syria from becoming a source of instability in the region.

The two ministers also discussed developments in Libya, Gaza, Sudan, and the Horn of Africa.

Furthermore, they touched on issues related to security in the Red Sea and achieving stability and unity in Somalia.

Similarly, Abdelatty held separate discussions on the sidelines of the meeting in Riyadh on Sunday to explain Egypt's perspective and views on the recent developments in Syria. He met with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, the UK's Foreign Secretary David Lammy, the UN Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen, and Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas.
