The 29th edition of the prestigious event will be held in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway.
The Pharaohs will be making their 18th and 17th appearances in the World’s biggest handball competition. Their best-ever achievement was ending in fourth place in the 2001 edition in France.
Egypt, who ended the last two editions in seventh place, came in Group H alongside Argentina, Bahrain, and hosts Croatia.
The nine-time African champions Egypt will kick off their preliminary round campaign by facing Argentina on Wednesday before taking on Bahrain on Friday, and they will finish the group stage encounters against Croatia on Sunday.
The top three teams of each group will qualify for the main round.
On Sunday, the team’s Spanish coach Juan Carlos Pastor announced the final 18-man squad for the tournament.
The Spaniard will have to do without key players Yehia Elderaa and Mohab Said, who have been ruled out for injuries. Meanwhile, the team’s prominent left-back Hassan Kaddah, who had just returned after foot surgery, has been left out.
