This win keeps Ahly at the summit of the league table with 18 points, one point ahead of second-placed Pyramids. Gouna, struggling with just six points, remain in the relegation zone.

Gouna started brightly, with Ojo Samuel narrowly missing an early chance. Ahly goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir, deputizing for Mohamed El-Shennawy, made crucial saves, denying Samuel and, later, Ali Al Zahdi.

Ahly failed to find the net in the first half despite multiple opportunities. Mohamed Afsha spurned several chances, including a glaring miss after a fine pass from Hussein El-Shahat.

Ahly's performance improved in the second half. Gouna goalkeeper Mohamed Alaa made several impressive saves, including from Afsha and Mohamed Hany.

The deadlock was broken in the 63rd minute when Ashour, receiving a precise pass from Afsha, calmly slotted the ball past Alaa. This was Ashour's seventh goal contribution in his last seven matches.

Despite a late surge from Gouna, Ahly doubled their lead in injury time. Ashour again displayed his composure, converting a pass from Karim El-Debes to seal the 2-0 victory.

Gouna's goal-scoring woes remain a major concern. They have scored only one goal in eight league matches, a worrying statistic for a team battling relegation.

Emam Ashour continues to be a standout performer for Ahly, with eight goals and three assists this season.
