“This is a day I will never forget. To sign for Manchester City – one of the best teams in the world – is an amazing feeling. I am delighted, my family are so proud, and we are all very happy to be here in Manchester.” Marmoush said.

After a two-week negotiation period, the English Premier League champions officially unveiled the transfer on Thursday, a move perceived as a top priority for Pep Guardiola, who is looking to rebuild his squad.

City's offensive struggles this season have been evident, with Erling Haaland's impressive tally of 17 goals highlighting the lack of firepower from the rest of their forwards, none of whom have managed to score more than twice in the league.

“Omar is an accomplished and exciting forward, and I’m delighted he’s joining us. He has all the attributes a top-class attacker requires. He has outstanding pace and awareness, and he is exceptional in front of goal. He can also play a number of different positions, which is a really valuable asset.” Director of Football Txiki Begiristain said about the significance of Marmoush’s arrival.

The addition of Marmoush is set to inject much-needed depth and creativity into their attacking lineup as Guardiola's squad looks to reignite their pursuit of the domestic title.

Marmoush has been a subject of intense transfer speculation since the beginning of the current January transfer window, with reported interest from other European powerhouses such as Arsenal, Serie A side Roma, and La Liga giants Barcelona.

Operating effectively in any position across the front three, Marmoush is having an exceptional 2024-25 campaign. He netted 20 goals in 26 matches for Eintracht Frankfurt and provided 14 assists across all competitions.

Starting his European journey at Wolfsburg U19 after departing Egyptian side Wadi Degla in 2017, Marmoush swiftly progressed to the senior team in 2020, showcasing his talent and prowess on the pitch.

Having plied his trade at various Bundesliga clubs, including FC St. Pauli and VfB Stuttgart, Marmoush joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer in July 2023.

In his time in Germany, Marmoush made 108 Bundesliga appearances, finding the net 35 times and providing 22 assists.

In his debut season with Frankfurt, he enjoyed an impressive return of 17 goals from 41 appearances, helping the club secure a sixth-place finish in the Bundesliga and a Europa League qualification spot.

On the international stage, Marmoush has continued to impress, amassing 35 caps and scoring 6 goals since his debut in 2021, establishing himself as a pivotal figure for the Pharaohs.
