Masry find themselves in a must-win situation against Black Bulls to sidestep potential complications and secure a berth in the quarterfinals.
Positioned second in the standings with six points, Masry trails table-toppers Zamalek, who have already sealed a spot in the quarterfinals by a margin of four points.
They cling to a narrow one-point lead over third-placed Enyimba from Nigeria, while Black Bulls languish at the bottom of the group with four points after five rounds of play.
Coach Ali Maher has expressed confidence in his team's readiness for the upcoming match, emphasizing the importance of winning.
"Our sole focus is on clinching a win to advance to the quarterfinals. I am pleased with the dedication and fighting spirit exhibited by the Masry players as we approach this crucial fixture," Maher affirmed during the pre-game press conference.
He also highlighted the pivotal role that Masry's fans are expected to play in propelling the team towards victory.
However, Masry will be without the services of the in-form winger Mohamed El-Shami, who suffered a knee injury in the recent Egyptian Premier League fixture against Pharco FC.
"The loss of El-Shami is a setback for us, but we are working on identifying a suitable replacement," remarked Coach Maher.
On the flip side, the Black Bulls also face a do-or-die scenario. They need a win against Masry to keep their quarterfinal aspirations alive.
