These trucks had been waiting at the Egyptian side of the crossing since early morning.

Approximately 100 trucks are said to have entered Karm Abu Salem for inspection shortly before the ceasefire agreement took effect.

This, however, remains to be confirmed.

Among the trucks, around 30 are loaded with fuel.

Meanwhile, Hamas military spokesperson Abu Obaida announced in a statement the names of 3 Israeli women to be released from Gaza as part of the ceasefire deal.

The announcement of the names was delayed, pushing back the scheduled ceasefire time of 8:30 in the morning. Israel continued shelling Gaza during this period.

The truce is expected to come into effect at any moment now.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the ceasefire would not begin until Hamas hands over the names of the three captives to be released later on Sunday.

In response, Hamas confirmed its commitment to the agreement's terms, explaining that the delay in delivering the names of those to be released is due to “technical field reasons.”

Hours before implementing the agreement, Egypt commenced comprehensive preparations in North Sinai to facilitate the delivery of thousands of tons of vital humanitarian aid through the reopened Rafah border crossing, aiming to assist the nearly starving population in Gaza.
