Egypt FM Abdelatty heads to Belgium as part of European tour

Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty headed Sunday to the Belgian capital of Brussels to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Belgium in various fields as part of a European tour, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

During his visit, Abdelatty is scheduled to meet with senior Belgian officials, heads of major Belgian companies, and members of the Egyptian community in Belgium.

The visit aims to enhance cooperation with the European Union (EU) and follow up on implementing the various aspects of the Egypt-EU comprehensive strategic partnership.

Moreover, Egypt's top diplomat will meet with senior officials of various EU institutions, including António Costa, the president of the European Council, and Kaja Kallas, the EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy.

On the second leg of his trip, Abdelatty will travel to the French city of Strasbourg, which hosts the headquarters of the European Parliament.

During that visit, he will meet with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, the heads of the various political groups within the parliament, and the heads of key committees concerned with overseeing the Egypt-EU relations.
