This came during a phone call on Monday with Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg.
The president highlighted Egypt's efforts to implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which took effect on Sunday, and ensure the effective delivery of humanitarian aid to the strip, aiming to alleviate the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
Meanwhile, the Austrian chancellor praised Egypt's continuous efforts in mediation and bloodshed prevention over the past months.
He also emphasized his country's appreciation for Egypt's crucial role in establishing the ceasefire.
Moreover, Schallenberg expressed appreciation for the wisdom of Egypt's positions and its unwavering efforts to maintain regional security and stability, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency.
The ceasefire, brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and the US, comes 15 months after Israel's genocidal war has left Gaza in ruins.
Per the deal, hundreds of aid and fuel trucks were allowed into the strip after months of Israeli blockade on most food, water, and medicine, leaving the population on the verge of starvation.
Under the ceasefire, which has an initial phase of 42 days, 600 trucks carrying humanitarian relief can enter the strip daily.
The deal’s first stage includes releasing 33 Israeli captives held by Hamas in exchange for around 1,900 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
Israeli bombardment, with an intensity larger in scale than any other war in history, has destroyed 72 percent of homes and most of the strip's schools and hospitals.
Israel has killed over 46,899 Palestinians — most of whom are children and women — and wounded over 110,000 others.
Additionally, thousands of Palestinians are still buried under the rubble.
Furthermore, El-Sisi and Schallenberg addressed the situation in Lebanon. They emphasized the importance of maintaining the ceasefire and supporting state institutions so that they could fulfil their role in realizing the aspirations of the Lebanese people.
They also discussed the situation in Syria, with El-Sisi reiterating Cairo's commitment to preserving its unity, territorial integrity, and the security of its people, the statement added.
