Local sources reported increased military searches at the Tayseer and Hamra military checkpoints in the northern Jordan Valley, disrupting vehicle movement and creating massive traffic jams.
In Nablus, Israeli forces closed the Tel Al-Murabba Gate and the Deir Sharaf roundabout, causing severe traffic congestion and trapping thousands of Palestinian citizens near the checkpoints.
Israeli police also deployed along the roads in southern Nablus, stopping vehicles with Palestinian license plates.
In Bethlehem, Israeli forces tightened restrictions, closing most of the city’s entry points.
Meanwhile, in East Jerusalem, Israeli occupation forces fired teargas at the Jabaa military checkpoint, suffocating several Palestinians.
Israeli forces also imposed tight restrictions on military checkpoints leading to the city, further disrupting citizens’ movement and causing traffic jams.
In Tulkarem, Israeli occupation forces set up a sudden military checkpoint at the southern entrance, halting vehicles and preventing entry or exit while conducting identity checks. No arrests were reported.
The heightened Israeli security measures came hours after hundreds of Palestinians celebrated the release of 90 prisoners from Israeli jails as part of the Gaza ceasefire deal in Beituna near Ramallah.
On the other side, Palestinian militants detonated an explosive device on a military vehicle in the town of Tamoun in the northern West Bank, killing an Israeli soldier and wounding four others.
The officer and soldiers were in a light armoured vehicle model 'David' last night during an incursion in the town of Tamoun when an explosive device detonated in their vehicle, Israel's army said in a statement.
An Israeli army operation in Tamoun killed three Palestinian cousins, including two children under the age of 10.
At least 858 Palestinians have been killed and over 6,700 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank since Israel started its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023.
Moreover, the Israeli army detained over 14,300 Palestinians from the West Bank since October 2023.
