On Wednesday dawn, Israeli bulldozers began levelling the street and entrance of Jenin Governmental Hospital, blocking its access with dirt mounds, WAFA news agency reported.
The forces also bulldozed the surroundings of Ibn Sina Hospital and deliberately destroyed streets in the city and around its camp.
Moreover, the Israeli troops detained an injured Palestinian man along with his father and brother.
Snipers positioned themselves on the rooftops of homes and residential buildings overlooking the camp, continuing to block its entrances.
The occupation forces had stormed Jenin and its camp on Tuesday in an unprecedented assault, accompanied by military bulldozers and drones flying over the area.
The first day of the assault killed 10 Palestinians and injured around 40.
The Israeli military and the Shin Bet security agency said that, alongside the Israeli Border Police, they had launched an operation named "Iron Wall" in Jenin.
Prime Minister Benjamen Netanyahu claimed the raid aimed to "eradicate terrorism" in Jenin and was part of a broader strategy to counter Iran "wherever it sends its arms — in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen," and the West Bank.
Forced displacement
Bashir Matahen, the public relations officer at Jenin Municipality, stated that more than 600 Palestinians were forced to flee their homes in Jenin camp, seeking refuge at the city's Governmental Hospital.
He added that the displaced individuals are scattered around the hospital and within its wards, facing a dire humanitarian situation. Some of them are left in the open, without shelter or tents.
Another genocide?
Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, has warned of a potential Israeli genocide in the West Bank, similar to that committed in the Gaza Strip.
"As the long-awaited ceasefire in Gaza took place, Israel's death machinery escalated its firing in the West Bank, killing 10 people in Jenin today," Albanese wrote on X.
"If it is not forced to stop, Israel's genocide of Palestinians will not be confined to Gaza. Mark my words," she added.
Israeli troops or settlers have killed at least 847 Palestinians in the West Bank since the start of the Gaza war, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
In Gaza, Israel has killed 46,960 Palestinians, mostly women and children, since it started its genocidal war on the strip on 7 October 2023.
