The Yemeni government army said in a statement received by the DPA that "government forces thwarted an infiltration attempt by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia in Jabal Habashi district, west of Taiz governorate, on Wednesday."
The army indicated that "the army forces inflicted losses on the hostile Houthi groups and forced the rest of them to flee."
The army added that "the army forces responded to hostile Houthi fire sources, resulting in the injury of two army personnel."
The army indicated that "injuries occurred among the Houthis when the army thwarted hostile movements against them on the Maqbanah front, west of Taiz."
In the oil-rich Marib governorate, the army reported "deaths and injuries among the Houthis after the army responded to hostile fire on several fronts there."
"The army forces also dealt with sources of hostile fire east of the city of Al-Hazm in Al-Jawf governorate, in addition to targeting drones launched by the Houthi militia towards military sites in the governorate," according to the army statement.
There was no immediate comment from the Houthis regarding these confrontations. However, the group announced on Tuesday evening the killing of six of its members, including a brigadier general, without specifying the place and time of their deaths.
This comes amid fears of a further escalation of the conflict between government forces and the Houthis after a calm that has continued since April 2022.
