In a harsh statement, Fatah condemned what it described as "bizarre positions and statements" issued by the Islamist movement.
"Hamas has made concessions to the Israeli occupation to reach understandings that preserve its authority in the Gaza Strip," WAFA news agency quoted Fatah's statement as saying.
"This came at the expense of the blood and sacrifices of our people and provided the occupation with excuses for destroying the West Bank," added Fatah.
"This suspicious approach by Hamas, which seeks to cement the division, coincides with a dubious media campaign adopted by Al Jazeera and some parties, whose positions align with the goals of the occupation, justifying its aggressive policies against the West Bank, including storming hospitals and distorting the image of the Palestinian security services, in an attempt to create chaos and sow discord among our people," Fatah spokesperson Abdel Fattah Dula said.
"We call on the Hamas movement to review its positions and stop providing excuses for the occupation to undermine national unity and perpetuate division," he added.
"We also call on national media outlets to adopt a discourse that unites our people and strengthens their steadfastness in the face of the occupation’s plans," Dula continued.
The war of words between the two Palestinian movements comes amid deadly Israeli raids in Jenin, which killed 12 Palestinians in the past 72 hours.
In a statement earlier, Hamas charged that "security coordination between the Palestinian Authority and Israel has reached catastrophic levels."
Hamas condemned "the continued spill of Palestinian blood at the hands of the security forces in the West Bank, the latest of which was the injury of young Mohammad Shadi Al-Sabbagh from Jenin camp, along with the siege of Al-Razi Hospital, pursuing resistance fighters, and arresting the wounded."
It claimed that the Palestinian Authority's behaviour "has crossed all red lines and inter-patriotic ethical standards."
