On Saturday evening, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said he had told Jordan's King Abdullah II: "I'd love you to take on more because I'm looking at the whole Gaza Strip right now, and it's a mess, it's a real mess."
The US president said he planned to present the same proposal to the Egyptian president on Sunday.
"You're talking about probably a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing," he added.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the syndicate described such comments as "a blatant violation of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and a disregard for international resolutions affirming their right to establish an independent state on their land."
The syndicate praised the resilience of the Palestinian people in Gaza, commending their steadfastness in defending their land and their refusal to leave under any pretext.
It also reaffirmed its support for Egypt’s official stance, which has opposed forced displacement plans since the beginning of the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on 7 October 2023.
“Egypt has consistently rejected all attempts, whether coercive or voluntary, to displace Palestinians as a means to resolve the issue, a position reiterated by state institutions on multiple occasions.” the syndicate noted.
Earlier on Sunday, a high-level Egyptian source told Al Hadath TV that Egypt maintains its firm stance against the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza to other locations, a position it has consistently conveyed to the US.
It urged the governments of Egypt and Jordan to take all necessary measures to thwart this plan, expressing full solidarity with the Palestinian people, who have sacrificed greatly in their struggle to defend their land and rights.
The Journalists' Syndicate also called on the international community and all relevant institutions and stakeholders to publicly reject President Trump's proposals and take decisive action to counter them.
It warned that pursuing such plans would only exacerbate crises in the region.
It also renewed its condemnation of international silence and complicity regarding the massacres against civilians in Gaza, reiterating its demand for the prosecution of Israeli war criminals before the International Criminal Court.
The syndicate emphasized that the Israeli genocidal acts committed with US support must not pave the way for further implementation of what it described as US-Israeli schemes to liquidate the Palestinian cause and forcibly expel Palestinians from their homeland.
It stressed that a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian cause requires the end of all forms of Israeli occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Finally, the Journalists' Syndicate expressed its confidence in the Palestinian people, whose factions and communities have unanimously declared they will not accept a second Nakba, underscoring that stability in the region can only be achieved through a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause.
