Both teams displayed commendable performances, but missed opportunities prevented either side from securing a victory.

Pyramids FC retained their position at the top of the table with 21 points, just one point ahead of second-place Ahly.

Despite their unbeaten run, the Red Devils have registered one of their slowest starts to a campaign, with five wins and five draws in their first 10 matches.

The excitement began early when Ahly defender Rami Rabia inadvertently scored an own goal in the 18th minute. Mostafa Fathi extended Pyramids' lead just after the break.

The Red Devils responded in a quickfire succession. Rabia redeemed himself with the equalizer in the 52nd minute, and newly signed Slovenian striker Nejc Gradisar scored on his debut two minutes later to rescue a point.

Mostafa El-Esh, another January signing, also made his debut, just two days after completing his move due to the several injuries that have hit the team in recent weeks.

Ahly started the game strong, creating scoring opportunities through Hussein El Shahat and Emam Ashour. Pyramids FC were dangerous on the counter-attack, utilizing the versatility of Congolese striker Fiston Mayele and the trickery of Ibrahim Adel.

Pyramids took the lead when Rabia miscued a clearance from Mohamed Hamdi's cross into his own net.

Marcel Koller's men continued to press, but the turning point came in the 40th minute when Ahmed Tawfik was shown a red card for elbowing Karim Eldebes.

Koller introduced Omar Kamal and Gradisar after the break to bolster the attack. However, they were stunned when Fathi converted a penalty in the 50th minute, awarded after a foul by Mohamed Hany on Adel.

Ahly's response was swift. Rabia scored a fantastic header from a precise Hussein El Shahat assist just two minutes later. Gradisar then completed his dream debut, calmly slotting home a rebound in the 54th minute.

Ahly maintained their pressure and squandered several opportunities to take the lead. Ashour's close-range effort was saved by keeper Ahmed El Shennawy, playmaker Mohamed "Afsha" Magdi's free-kick went inches wide of the post, and a shot from Marwan Attia skimmed over the crossbar.

However, their biggest regret was Ashour's missed penalty; his panenka attempt bounced off the bar.

Looking ahead, Ahly will face Modern Sport SC in their next match, while Pyramids FC face a challenging fixture against third-placed Zamalek on Friday.
