Despite recent critical remarks from Nantes' coach Antoine Kombouaré concerning the Egyptian striker, Mostafa Mohamed entered the game as a substitute in the 69th minute and found the back of the net after connecting with a precise cross from Moses Simone.
Mostafa Mohamed's tenure at Nantes has been a blend of highs and lows since his loan move from Galatasaray in the summer of 2022, having scored just three goals this season across all competitions.
Notably, the 27-year-old had not scored for Nantes since late August when they defeated Montpellier 3-1.
The Pharaohs international missed the past two games for "technical reasons" as suggested by his coach Kombouare.
Kombouaré revealed, "Since last summer, even during the winter transfer window of last season, he has been on the verge of leaving," indicating ongoing uncertainties.
"This summer, he was prepared to move on but was unable to secure a move to the desired clubs," added the Nantes coach.
Following the draw on Sunday, Mostafa Mohamed could potentially earn his place back in the Nantes squad.
Nantes currently occupies the 14th position in the Ligue 1 table, amassing 18 points from 19 games this season, trailing league leaders PSG by 29 points.
