"While we emphasize the adherence of our Palestinian people to their land and their rejection of displacement and deportation, we call on the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to affirm their absolute rejection of all forms of displacement of our Palestinian people, and to support their national rights to establish their independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital," added the statement.
Earlier on Sunday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that Cairo categorically rejects any displacement of Palestinians from their land, be it "short term" or "long term".
In its statement, the Foreign Ministry reiterated Egypt's steadfast adherence to the principles and parameters of a political settlement for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing that it remains the central issue in the Middle East.
In tandem, also on Sunday, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi reiterated his country’s unwavering opposition to the displacement of Palestinians from the occupied territories.
The Egyptian and Jordanian statements came in the wake of US President Trump's announcement on Saturday that he would propose the relocation of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to Egypt and Jordan, among other countries.
