The state-run National News Agency reported that the strike hit the southern town of Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa.

At around 7:30 pm, an enemy Israeli drone" carried out "a strike with a guided missile targeting a small vegetable truck" in Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa, the news agency said.

The town lies north of the Litani River but only around 10 kilometres (seven miles) from the Israeli border.

Israel has expressed its intention not to complete its withdrawal from south Lebanon by the end of January as stipulated in the November 27 ceasefire agreement that ended its 6-week deadly assault on the country, which killed and wounded thousands of Lebanese civilians and destroyed thousands of homes.

The Israeli army has violated the ceasefire agreement on tens of occasions, with airstrikes and bombardment killing tens of Lebanese civilians in the past two months.
