The spokesperson explained that the Ministry of Defence Search and Rescue Centre received a distress call, which indicated that strong winds caused a hot air balloon carrying tourists to malfunction, forcing it to make an emergency landing in a mountainous area northwest of Luxor.

Immediately, the Armed Forces deployed a helicopter to assist rescue teams in locating stranded tourists and provide them with all necessary medical services.

The rescue operation came following the directives of the General Command of the Egyptian Armed Forces to assist all state agencies in search and rescue operations nationwide.
