"We are prepared to heal the wounds of our Gazan brothers and sisters and to meet their temporary shelter needs," Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya posted on X on Wednesday.
The ship was loaded with 871 tons of humanitarian aid, including 300 power generators, 20 portable toilets, 10,460 tents and 14,350 blankets, according to Yerlikaya.
A team from the Egyptian Red Crescent received Turkish aid to make the necessary arrangements for its delivery to the strip.
In the past two weeks, the North Sinai Governorate has made intensive preparations at El-Arish port and airport to receive international aid destined for Gaza after the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel to end the 15-month Israeli genocidal war on the strip went into effect on 19 January.
Immediately after the ceasefire went into effect, Egypt sent hundreds of trucks carrying food, water, and medicine to Gaza to alleviate near-starvation conditions suffered by 2.4 million Palestinians after months of the near-total Israeli blockade on the entry of the baics of life.
In tandem, on Tuesday, a massive relief convoy, organized by Al-Azhar's Zakat and Charity House (EZCH) in collaboration with the Tahya Misr Fund and the Egyptian Food Bank, entered the Gaza Strip via the Rafah border terminal to deliver much needed life necessities.
Meanwhie, Egypt is ensuring the readiness of the healthcare system in the North Sinai governorate and neighbouring areas to treat sick and injured Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
