According to the Egyptian presidency, Sánchez sought to hear El-Sisi's views on implementing the agreement to stop the bloodshed and restore peace in the region.
El-Sisi also outlined Cairo's efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza to ease its people's suffering.
The Egyptian presidency added that El-Sisi reiterated Egypt's firm stance on the necessity of implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the 4 June 1967 borders to achieve lasting stability in the region.
He reaffirmed to Sanchez his appreciation for Madrid's support of the Palestinian cause.
Sánchez has been an outspoken critic of the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, repeatedly calling for a ceasefire as a vital way to de-escalate tensions in the region.
In May 2024, Spain, under Sanchez's premiership, recognized the Palestinian state under a two-state solution as the only viable path to peace in the Middle East.
In conclusion, the Egyptian presidency indicated that El-Sisi and Sánchez's conversation also addressed the situation in Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, and Libya.
