Despite recent criticism from Nantes' coach Antoine Kombouaré towards the Egyptian forward, Mostafa Mohamed once again came to the rescue of the team by scoring the decisive goal in the 70th minute before being subbed off just two minutes later.

The imposing Egyptian striker struck gold by connecting with a pinpoint low cross from Matthis Abline inside the box, unleashing a powerful rocket shot into the net.

Nantes opened the scoring through Matthis Abline in the 42nd minute, but a one-minute lapse before halftime saw defender Jean Castelletto inadvertently scoring an own goal, leading to a draw at the break.

Nantes currently holds the 14th spot in the Ligue 1 table with 21 points, just three above the danger zone.

Since his loan move from Galatasaray in the summer of 2022, the 27-year-old Mohamed has experienced a mix of highs and lows at Nantes, tallying only four goals this season across all competitions.

Last week, Mohamed made a notable impact by coming off the bench to score a crucial goal in Nantes' 1-1 draw against Lyon in Ligue 1, marking his first goal since late August when they defeated Montpellier 3-1.

With these performances, Mostafa Mohamed is potentially regaining his spot in the Nantes squad.
