FM Abdelatty discusses bilateral relations, Gaza ceasefire with Bahrain's King, crown prince

Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed means to enhance Egyptian-Bahraini bilateral relations, as well as the latest developments regarding the Gaza ceasefire deal, in separate meetings with Bahrain's king and crown prince.

In his meeting with Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Abdelatty said Egypt and Bahrain are keen to promote relations to broader prospects, lauding the current level of cooperation between both nations.

The foreign minister conveyed the greetings of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to the Bahraini monarch, underlining the importance of cooperation to enhance the Gulf's security.

He asserted that Gulf’s security is an integral part of Egypt's national security, according to a statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry.

The pair discussed the latest political and security developments in the region, where Abdelatty briefed the Bahraini king on the updates related to implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The top Egyptian diplomat emphasised the significance of maintaining Arab coordination on regional issues and building on the outcome of the recent Arab Summit hosted by Manama.

On his part, the Bahraini king voiced his appreciation to El-Sisi, lauding the rapid development in Egyptian-Bahraini relations.

The Bahraini monarch called for activating the mechanisms of joint action to strengthen bilateral ties, the statement added.

Abdelatty also met with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain, where he underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral relations in economic, investment, and trade cooperation.

Abdelatty also urged thorough preparation for the upcoming second meeting of the Egyptian-Bahraini Governmental Committee for Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation.

He highlighted the potential for Egyptian companies to participate in infrastructure projects in Bahrain.

Additionally, he underlined the recent structural reforms that have improved Egypt's investment climate.

He stressed the Egyptian government's commitment to overcoming any obstacles that may hinder foreign investments, the statement noted.

 Abdelatty arrived in Manama on Sunday.
