
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty greeted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara during his visit to Turkey.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the message praised the joint efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordinate on regional issues, highlighting the positive momentum in Egyptian-Turkish relations.
It also commended the increasing high-level visits and constructive engagement between officials from both countries, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing cooperation in political, economic, and investment sectors.
During the meeting, Minister Abdelatty discussed the significant economic potential and promising opportunities in Egypt and Turkey, emphasizing the importance of capitalizing on these trade and investment prospects.
He also stressed the necessity of holding a joint business forum to foster economic collaboration.
Additionally, he reaffirmed the mutual ambition to increase bilateral trade to $15 billion in the coming years while continuing to expand Turkish investments in Egypt.
The discussions also covered key regional developments, focusing on the situation in Gaza.
Minister Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s ongoing efforts to fully implement the three-phase ceasefire agreement, ensure the rapid and sustained flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and initiate early recovery and reconstruction programs that would help Palestinians remain on their land despite the dire humanitarian crisis.
The meeting also addressed the situation in Syria, where Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting the Syrian people, upholding Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and promoting an inclusive political process that ensures stability in the region.
He also reviewed Egypt’s diplomatic initiatives to restore security and stability in Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and the Horn of Africa.
For his part, President Erdogan requested that Minister Abdelatty convey his sincere greetings to President El-Sisi, emphasizing the strategic significance of Egyptian-Turkish cooperation.
He underscored its vital role in strengthening bilateral relations and coordinating positions on key regional issues of mutual concern.
