The inclusion comes on the day Marmoush celebrates his 26th birthday, making it a special gift for the versatile forward.
UEFA regulations permit clubs to register a maximum of three new eligible players after the group stage and before the knockout phase of the competition.
Manchester City submitted their 22-man squad before the league’s commencement, in line with regulations that allow a maximum of 25 players, including at least two goalkeepers.
The Sky Blues have included all three of their January signings: Marmoush, Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov, and Spanish midfielder Nico González in their squad.
The trio will be available for Guardiola’s side in their playoff clashes against Real Madrid, with fixtures scheduled at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday 11 February, and at the Bernabeu on Wednesday 19 February.
The 26-year-old joined the Premier League champions during the January winter transfer window from German side Eintracht Frankfurt for a reported fee of €75 million.
He signed a lucrative four-and-a-half-year contract following an impressive spell in the Bundesliga where he scored 37 goals and provided 20 assists in 67 games across all competitions.
The Egyptian winger made a swift debut in his team’s 3-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea on 25 January.
And despite not getting on the scoresheet, he was praised by his teammates and fans alike.
