The statement added that the visit aims to strengthen Egypt's strategic partnership with the United States and discuss regional issues of mutual interest.
According to media reports, Abdelatty’s tour comes ahead of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's planned visit to the US for talks with his President Donald Trump.
However, the visit has not yet been officially announced.
El-Sisi and Trump exchanged invitations to visit their respective countries in a phone call earlier in February, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency.
The call was the first between the two leaders following Trump's suggestion to relocate Palestinians to Jordan and Egypt — a suggestion that both President El-Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan have rejected.
During the call, El-Sisi discussed the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza and the means to reach peace in the Middle East.
He also stressed the urgency of launching a peace process that leads to a permanent solution in the region and expressed his confidence in Trump's ability to reach a historic and permanent peace agreement.
In a separate statement, Cairo announced it will host an emergency Arab summit on 27 February to discuss the latest serious developments concerning the Palestinian cause.
