The show is scheduled for 17-19 February. Methanex Corporation supplies, distributes, and markets methanol worldwide.
“This year, we look forward to sharing our vision for the future of Process Safety Management in partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and how we can solidify it as a common practice and guide in the industry,” Shindy said.
“EGYPES also provides an opportunity for Methanex to showcase our commitment to sustainability and the role methanol can play in the energy transition,” he highlighted.
Egypt’s pioneering oil and gas show EGYPES is organized under the patronage and attendance of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi. The theme of this year-round is “Building a Secure and Sustainable Energy Future,” This year's edition also witnesses the participation of Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides at the invitation of President El-Sisi.
Major agreements are anticipated to be signed during the event to boost the regional cooperation between Egypt and Cyprus in the natural gas field,” Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi announced in a press conference on Sunday.
He added that Egypt’s pivotal role as a regional energy hub would enable Cyprus to tap Egypt’s infrastructure for re-exporting its gas, which is expected to economically benefit the two and attract new investments from global energy firms.
According to the minister, the event will also include signing several cooperation agreements in the areas of energy efficiency and renewable energy.
EGYPES 2025 plays a vital role in addressing transformation and accelerating momentum across a full spectrum of current and future energy systems to define the future of energy.
Being Egypt's sole methanol producer and a key player in the industry, Methanex will highlight its successful partnerships within the country, mainly with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. This partnership created a comprehensive three-year process safety management (PSM) roadmap, established the PSM Egyptian Steering Committee and Technical Sub-Committee, and developed 24 PSM standards and guidelines to enable the safe design, construction, and operation of facilities working in the Egyptian oil, gas, and petrochemical sector.
Other notable highlights will include Methanex’s ongoing partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) since 2018 to support youth empowerment and the Damietta community's sustainable development journey.
