Zamalek have signed Tunisian winger Ahmed Jefali from Union de Monastir to strengthen their struggling attack, the Egyptian club announced on Monday.

The 21-year-old forward signed a three-and-a-half-year contract until the summer of 2028. While Zamalek did not disclose financial details, Union de Monastir earlier stated that the deal was worth $500,000.

Jefali is Zamalek’s fourth signing of the winter transfer window, following Moroccan defender Salah Moussaddaq, midfielder Mahmoud Gehad, and defender Ahmed Hossam.

A former Galatasaray player, Jefali will look to bolster a frontline that has been inconsistent, with Mostafa Shalaby struggling for form and star winger Ahmed "Zizo" El Sayed seemingly distracted by ongoing contract negotiations.

Jefali has contributed to five goals - scoring three and assisting two - in 14 appearances for US Monastir in the first half of the Tunisian league season.

Zamalek face Pharco FC on Tuesday, but Jefali’s debut could be delayed until their match against Petrojet on 16 February.
