Egypt defence minister oversees key phase of Third Field Army mobilization command centre exercise

Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel Mageed Saqr attended the execution of the main phase of the Third Field Army's mobilization command centre tactical exercise, the Egyptian Armed Forces announced on Tuesday.

The multi-day exercise was part of the combat training plan for the armed forces' formations and units.

Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khalifa, the chief of staff of the armed forces, branch commanders, and senior military officials attended the event.

Lieutenant-General Hisham Shendi, commander of the Third Field Army, delivered a speech emphasizing his forces' commitment to achieving the highest levels of combat readiness and efficiency and ensuring their ability to fulfil all assigned tasks in safeguarding the nation’s security, regardless of the sacrifices required.

The main phase of the exercise included a briefing on the operational concept, an overview of prior phases, and an analysis of leadership decisions made during the exercise.

During his visit, the defence minister conveyed President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s greetings and appreciation to the Third Field Army personnel.

He also engaged with participants in discussions on their mission execution and decision-making strategies in response to unexpected battlefield scenarios. He urged them to maintain peak combat readiness to ensure the armed forces could fulfil their duties under any circumstances. Following the inspection, he joined the troops for a meal.

Earlier, Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khalifa had overseen a stage of the exercise, which included presentations on reports, decisions, and interdepartmental coordination procedures. He also discussed completed missions with officers and introduced surprise tactical scenarios to assess their decision-making capabilities based on real-time conditions.
