Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas highly appreciated the courageous stances of King Abdullah II of Jordan as an extension of the solid stances of the Jordanian leadership in support of the just and legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people.
Abbas stated that these positions align with a peace based on resolutions of international legitimacy, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the principle of a two-state solution, which envisions the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital while safeguarding the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem under the guardianship of the Hashemite framework, as reported by the WAFA news agency.
Following his meeting with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, Jordan’s King Abdullah II posted on X: “I reiterated Jordan’s steadfast position against the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.”
The PA president also thanked Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and all countries opposing colonial proposals seeking to displace Palestinians and annex their land.
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi asserted that Egypt "cannot participate in the injustice of displacing the Palestinian people."
During his first public comment on Trump’s colonialist-style proposal to deport Gazans, El-Sisi stressed that displacement "can never be tolerated or allowed" due to its potential threat to Egypt's national security.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia affirmed that "the Palestinian people have a right to their land, and they are not intruders or immigrants who can be expelled whenever the brutal Israeli occupation wishes.”
"This extremist, occupying mentality does not understand what the Palestinian land means to the brotherly people of Palestine and their emotional, historical, and legal connection to this land," the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Sunday.
President Abbas emphasized that peace and stability cannot be achieved without realizing the Palestinian state. He called for an end to the war, the prompt initiation of humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people, and for the State of Palestine to take charge of the Strip by reconstructing what the occupation devastated. This should be guided by a coherent plan that garners both official and grassroots Palestinian Arab support, focusing on rebuilding while the Palestinian people remain on their land.
He underscored the importance of coordinating Arab efforts and stances to adopt the Arab peace vision at the upcoming emergency Arab summit. He also expressed gratitude for the global coalition's efforts to implement the two-state solution and obtain more international recognition for the State of Palestine, including holding the upcoming international peace conference co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France.
Abbas reiterated the Palestinian people's commitment to remaining on their land in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem and that “Palestine is not for sale."
Hamas
"We appreciate the positions of Jordan and Egypt in rejecting the displacement of our people and affirming the existence of an Arab plan to rebuild Gaza without forcing its residents to leave,” Hamas stated.
“We value the stance of Arab brothers and all countries worldwide that have expressed opposition to plans aimed at displacing Palestinian people or erasing their national rights."
The Palestinian resistance group added: "We reaffirm that our people remain steadfast in their land and homeland, rejecting any solutions that compromise their legitimate rights to freedom and independence.”
