Egypt reaffirms its full solidarity with Germany and denounces all forms of violence, a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs read.
It added that Cairo extends its sincere wishes for a speedy recovery to all the injured.
On Thursday, a car struck a group of pedestrians near Munich’s central train station, leaving at least 20 people injured, some in critical condition.
The attack occurred nearly 1.5 kilometres from the venue of the upcoming Munich Security Conference, the world's leading forum for debating the most pressing challenges to international security.
The police have detained the driver, a 24-year-old Afghan national.
Investigation is underway to find out whether the act was intentional.
