Earlier on Thursday, in another breach of the ceasefire, Israeli forces shot and killed Palestinian youth Anas Al-Nabahin in the refugee camp.
On Wednesday, a Palestinian man was killed and another seriously injured in an Israeli drone strike targeting a gathering near Rafah in southern Gaza, according to media reports.
Israeli warplanes also bombed homes in western Rafah, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
The Israeli airstrike came hours after Egyptian and Qatari mediators said they had resolved obstacles to continuing the sixth prisoner swap under the ceasefire agreement, which took effect on 19 January.
Earlier this week, Hamas threatened to delay the release of Israeli captives, scheduled for Saturday, until Israel met the terms of the agreement. The group demanded that Israel allow the entry of tents and caravans to shelter displaced Palestinians, as well as bulldozers to clear debris and rubble in the strip.
Tens of caravans and bulldozers have waited since Thursday at the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza to enter the strip as per the agreement but were denied entry by Israel.
On Thursday evening, Ziad Halabi, director of the Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath office in Palestine, cited sources saying that Israel would allow the entry of mobile homes, tents, and heavy machinery into Gaza after it receives three Israeli captives set to be released on Saturday.
Munir al-Bursh, director general of Gaza’s health ministry, said on Tuesday that at least 92 Palestinians had been killed and more than 822 wounded by Israeli fire in violation of the 19 January ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
The Israeli war on Gaza has so far killed at least 48,239 Palestinians and injured 111,676 others, according to Gaza’s health ministry, figures the UN considers reliable. The ministry said on Thursday that many bodies remain trapped under rubble and in the streets.
