The Whites unveiled Peseiro as their new coach on Friday, stepping in for Swiss manager Christian Gross following the team's lackluster performances.

The 72-year Gross departs with Zamalek positioned third in the Egyptian League standings with 26 points, trailing league leaders Pyramids FC by four points and archrivals Ahly by three points.

Peseiro, 64, aims for a winning start against Petrojet to boost his team's moral days before playing the Cairo derby against Ahly on Saturday.

"My target is to win and enhance performance. Those familiar with Zamalek players acknowledge their exceptional talent," Peseiro expressed his ambitions in an interview with the club's TV channel.

The Portuguese tactician will be missing several key players due to suspension including goalkeeper Mohamed Awad, defender Ahmed Fatouh and midfielders Nasser Maher, Mohamed Shehata and Mostafa Shalaby sidelined due to yellow card suspensions.

Peseiro is likely to rely on wingers Ahmed "Zizo" Sayed, Nabil ‘Donga’ Emad, and the potential inclusion of Abdallah El-Said and recent signing Ahmed Hossam in the starting lineup.

On the other side, Petrojet, who have faced setbacks in their last three matches, are aiming to bounce back and improve their standing in the league.

Currently sitting in ninth place in the league table after 13 matches with 17 points, Petrojet is determined to climb up the ranks and secure a spot in the playoff round.
