"Three police officers have been martyred, and a third has been critically injured as a result of an Israeli airstrike that targeted them while they were deployed to secure aid in the Al-Shouka area, east of Rafah, this morning", the interior ministry in Gaza said in a statement.
The Israeli military said in a statement that its airforce had conducted an air strike in Gaza, aiming at several armed individuals.
Last week, Munir al-Bursh, director general of the health ministry in Gaza, said that at least 92 Palestinians had been killed and more than 822 wounded by Israeli fire in violation of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which went into effect on 19 January.
The death toll in Gaza has risen to 48,264 and wounded 111,688 - the majority of whom are children and women - since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on the strip in October 2023, according to Palestinian Health Ministery.
The toll includes more than 14,000 missing persons.
