The Pakistani embassy in Cairo said, "Upon directives of the Prime Minister, a special aircraft from Pakistan carrying 55 tons of relief supplies landed at El-Arish International Airport, Egypt, today. The relief consignment includes bell and winterized tents and tarpaulin sheets."

The consignment was handed to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society to dispatch to its Palestinian counterpart inside Gaza.

"Pakistan will continue to stand with the Palestinian brothers and sisters and provide much-needed humanitarian assistance. We are thankful to Egypt for their crucial support. More consignments from Pakistan's government and people are on their way and will be delivered soon to the Palestinians inside Gaza."

An official Egyptian source said on Friday that since the beginning of Israel's genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Egypt had facilitated the entry into Gaza of nearly 70 percent of the humanitarian aid trucks designated to help relieve the Palestinians in the strip.

Similarly, United Nations humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher said that until 6 February, more than 10,000 aid trucks entered Gaza through Egypt's various border crossings with the strip since the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel became effective on 19 January.
