During the meeting, the Jordanian Crown Prince expressed Amman’s appreciation for Cairo’s pivotal role in sustaining the Gaza ceasefire, preventing bloodshed, and restoring regional calm.

According to the Egyptian Presidency, both sides affirmed the urgent need to commence the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip without displacing Palestinians from their land.

The Egyptian president and Jordan’s Crown Prince also warned of the dangers of the ongoing escalation in the West Bank and the attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

In addition, they affirmed that establishing an independent Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the only guarantee to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.

For his part, the Crown Prince expressed Jordan’s support for the emergency Arab summit that Cairo hosts on 27 February, stressing the importance of a unified Arab stance on Palestine.

Furthermore, the two sides reiterated their commitment to preserving Syria’s unity, stability, and territorial integrity.
