Marwan Attia opened the scoring early, converting a penalty in the ninth minute. Emam Ashour doubled the lead in the 51st minute with a close-range effort inside the box.

Hussein El Shahat added the third goal in the 83rd minute, and new signing Ahmed Reda sealed the fourth three minutes later.

Ahly now lead the table with 32 points, two points ahead of second-place Pyramids FC, who will play Modern SC on Monday, and five points clear of third-place Zamalek.

Meanwhile, Ismaily, a three-time Egyptian champions, are struggling at the 14th place with 12 points, just two above the relegation zone, after 14 games.

The Red Devils had a blistering start and were awarded a penalty kick after just six minutes following a tackle on Nejc Gradisar inside the box allowing Attia to score his first ever goal for Ahly in more than two years.

Then Hussein El Shahat missed three scoring opportunities, including a penalty kick, that could have practically ended the game.

Gradisar also broke clear into the box but Mohamed Ammar made a sliding tackle to block his shot.

After the break, Ahly maintined their dominance and Ashour scored the second goal from a powerful close-range shot, adding to his league tally of nine goals.

Then Ashour turned provider, feeding El Shahat with a fine touch to score the third with a low strike from inside the area.

Late in the game, newly signed Ahmed Reda capitalized on a clear assist from youngster Mohamed Abdallah to secure Ahly's convincing victory.

Coach Marcel Koller used the opportunity to give playing time to recently recovered key players, including Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali and Moroccan defender Achraf Dari, ahead of their highly anticipated clash against Zamalek on Saturday.
