Hisham Khalifa, director of projects at Tahya Misr Fund, announced the initiative during a ceremony at the People’s Square in the New Administrative Capital.
Under the slogan "We Unite for Humanity," the humanitarian convoy gathered aid shipments from all Egyptian governorates in a grand formation at the People’s Square before departing for Gaza.
The aid includes medical supplies, essential medicines, large quantities of dry foodstuffs, canned goods, and ready-to-eat meals, bottled water and juices, clothing, blankets, carpets, bedding, cleaning supplies and disinfectants, infant formula, baby food, and diapers for all ages and personal hygiene products
This massive humanitarian effort is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Development and various civil society organizations.
The event also marked the launch of the Abwab El-Khair (Gates of Goodness) initiative, which aims to support underprivileged and low-income families in Egypt during the holy month of Ramadan.
This initiative will distribute 2.5 million food boxes, meat, poultry, and hot meals for Iftar and Suhoor to those families.
Several ministers and governors attended the event, including Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, and Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy.
