The painting symposium will showcase the art of 26 world-renowned visual artists from different countries, including Egypt, England, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, and the United States.

Despite their differing techniques, art schools, media, and subjects, the 26 participating artists collectively showcase a multicultural visual dialogue capable of juxtaposing the past and present with style and creativity.

The Egyptian artists include Tamer Youssef, Mohamed Nabil Abdel-Salam, Amira Hamdy, Ramy Atef, Faisal Hassan, Ahmed Abbas, Mahmoud Alshonkora, Ragab Konda, Dina Elhamy, Marwa Abulenein, Maha Gamil, Ali Abd El-Fattah, Amira Aboul Enein, Salma Kandil, Mirvat Shazly, Waad Elziny, Sherif Hakim, and Nada Eid, along with Egyptian-Americans Yasmin Jordan and Alice Louka.

The Arab artists are Rabab El-Ramahi (Jordan), Adèle Chaanan (Lebanon), Farah Alshbkhun (Iraq), Hind Aldabaan (Saudi Arabia), and Diana Bolbol (Palestine).

According to the statement, the symposium is a new global artistic experience at the heart of Nubia.

"This major cultural event highlights Aswan as an international creative destination. Indeed, Aswan is a constant source of inspiration for visual artists worldwide," said Nermin Shams, the founder of Lamasatt-Shams Art Space and the symposium’s organizer.

"Believing in art as a force capable of connecting cultures and rejuvenating souls is leaving an indelible mark on humanity's memory through the power of art. This is the spirit in which the Aswan International Painting Symposium was created, becoming a beacon of creativity where artists worldwide meet in Aswan, a city steeped in history and beauty," she added.

The Aswan Painting Symposium delivers a committed message to the world, affirming that Aswan, one of Egypt’s best tourist and cultural destinations, will remain an inexhaustible source of inspiration and a crossroads of arts and cultures for the entire world.

The symposium’s organizers hope to make it an annual event that will strengthen Aswan's place on the global art map. It is a way to support the participating visual artists in their quest for creativity and free expression.

This artistic event adds to a series of cultural events the city hosts.

Each year, Aswan hosts the International Sculpture Symposium, founded by Adam Henein, and the Aswan International Women Film Festival, which will be in its ninth edition this year.
