As the two companies are among the country's largest telecommunication providers, these strategic agreements represent a significant step toward enhancing Egypt’s telecommunications infrastructure.
The agreements aim to improve the quality of telecommunications services. By extending key contracts and building better infrastructure, consumers will experience more reliable mobile and internet services, including enhanced coverage and faster data speeds.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and other key officials attended the signing of the agreements between Orange Egypt CEO Yasser Shaker and TE CEO Mohamed Nasr.
Consumers are expected to experience more substantial 5G coverage, and ruler areas will have better mobile network coverage.
Moreover, service interruptions are expected to decrease, and response times will become faster.
Including fibre-optic connections in mobile sites will also improve consumers' overall satisfaction with telecom services.

Agreements' key provisions
The agreements cover several aspects of strategic collaboration between the two companies.
These include extending the messaging services agreement for three additional years till 2032, which increases the messaging capacity TE provides to Orange Egypt.
Additionally, they include a new deal to provide fibre-optic connections to Orange Egypt’s mobile sites (FTTS) over the next three years and an enhanced service-level agreement to support the company’s efforts in rolling out 5G services and solidifying its position as a leader in mobile and high-speed internet services in Egypt.
Moreover, modifications to the fixed internet services agreements aim to optimize the market’s service economics, enabling Orange Egypt to offer customers more competitive pricing and better packages.
The ongoing partnership is a significant development that will improve Egypt's telecom landscape, creating a more efficient and competitive market.
During the signing ceremony, Minister Talaat emphasized the ministry’s commitment to enhancing telecommunications services for Egyptian citizens.
He also highlighted recent initiatives, including the launch of 5G services, eSIM technology, and Wi-Fi Calling, explaining how such agreements improve service quality in the country.
Talaat noted that the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), in collaboration with mobile companies, has increased the deployment of mobile towers in urban and rural areas.
He added that NTRA, the regulator of Egypt's telecommunication and internet services, plans to install mobile towers in all the Haya Karima villages by mid-year, contributing to the EGP 9 billion investment in rural connectivity.

Meanwhile, Shaker stated that this action is expected to boost operational capacity and significantly improve customers' service offerings.
He also emphasized that the partnership with TE underscores the two companies’ shared commitment to developing Egypt’s telecommunications sector, enhancing competitiveness, and delivering cutting-edge services to Egyptian consumers.
On the other side, Nasr reiterated the importance of these agreements in supporting Orange Egypt’s expansion and ongoing efforts to roll out fibre-optic networks and high-speed internet services.
He also noted that the long-term agreements reflect both companies' trust in each other’s infrastructure and expertise, positioning TE as the preferred partner for telecom operators looking to meet customer demands effectively.
According to the statement, the agreements mark a new phase of cooperation between both companies. They are expected to make a lasting impact on Egypt’s telecom market, benefiting both businesses and consumers alike.
