The incident occurred in the early hours of the day near Bani Sand village, Manfalut district.
Initial investigation indicated a microbus travelling at high speed on the Assiut-Dayrut road collided with a car near Bani Sand village.
First responders rushed to the site and transported the victims to a nearby hospital.
The Public Prosecution was notified to proceed with the investigation.
Egypt recorded 5,861 road accident fatalities in 2023, a decrease from 7,762 in 2022.
However, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), injuries rose from 55,991 in 2022 to 71,016 in 2023.
