Ramadan in Egypt is a feast for the senses—lanterns glow, lights shimmer, and the air carries the rich aroma of traditional delicacies.
The streets pulse with energy, blending history, spirituality, and festivity into an experience unlike any other.
To capture this magic, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has launched a promotional campaign targeting the Arab market, inviting travellers to experience Egypt during Ramadan.
The campaign, which runs for a month and a half, seeks to attract visitors from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, and Bahrain. It highlights Egypt's diverse tourism offerings, encouraging Arab travellers to immerse themselves in its unique Ramadan atmosphere. At the same time, it promotes domestic tourism, urging Egyptians to rediscover the spirit of Ramadan at home.
Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA), emphasized that the campaign aligns with the ministry's digital marketing strategy to boost tourism. With online platforms playing an increasing role in travel planning, the campaign is rolling out across social media and digital channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Google Display, and the Shahid streaming platform. A dedicated webpage showcasing Ramadan celebrations in Egypt has also been launched.
Suzanne Mostafa, the ETA's General Director of Tourism Promotion, explained that the "Egypt's Spirit in Ramadan" campaign celebrates the traditions and customs that make Ramadan in Egypt truly special.
At its core, a vibrant promotional video highlighting the country's diverse tourist attractions and short episodes featuring Egyptian and Arab influencers sharing their Ramadan and Eid experiences in Egypt.
As part of the initiative, the video plays on screens throughout Cairo International Airport's Terminals 1, 2, and 3.
According to Nasreen Osmanli, Advisor to the ETA for Cairo International Airport Affairs, this initiative ensures that visitors are introduced to Egypt's tourism offerings as soon as they arrive.
By blending digital outreach with on-the-ground promotions, the campaign positions Egypt as the ultimate destination for travellers seeking a Ramadan and Eid experience steeped in history, culture, and hospitality.
