"We're now in discussions to coordinate a meeting with the Ukrainians in Riyadh, or even potentially Jeddah," Witkoff told reporters, saying the "idea is to get down a framework for a peace agreement and an initial ceasefire."
A senior Ukrainian official told AFP, speaking on the condition of anonymity, that “Delegations from the United States and Ukraine are expected to meet in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Tuesday”, as Kyiv seeks to repair fractured ties with US President Donald Trump's administration.
Andriy Yermak, President Volodymyr Zelensky's chief of staff, will lead the Ukrainian delegation, which could also include Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, according to the AFP.
