The Dakahliya Governorate stated that the boat was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
Emergency teams, including civil protection personnel and river rescuers, were dispatched to the scene to repair the leak and refloat the vessel.
Nile Star operates as a restaurant and café under a temporary permit from the General Authority for River Transport.
Local authorities ordered an investigation into the incident.
