This came in his speech on Friday at the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-CFM) in Jeddah.

FM Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's comprehensive plan for "early recovery, reconstruction, and development of Gaza," formulated in full coordination with the Palestinian leadership and adopted by the extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo on 4 March.

At the meeting, the Egyptian foreign minister outlined the Arab reconstruction initiative, which comprises three phases of early recovery and rebuilding.

He also announced Egypt's intention to organize an international reconstruction conference in collaboration with the Palestinian government and the United Nations to mobilize global support for the plan.

Additionally, he proposed the establishment of an internationally supervised trust fund to facilitate the implementation of reconstruction efforts.

He underscored that the plan safeguards the Palestinian people's right to rebuild Gaza, exercising their right to remain on their land and overcoming the catastrophic conditions caused by the Israeli war.

He reiterated his rejection of any forced displacement and land annexation, stressing support for the right of the Palestinian people to reclaim their homeland.

Reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to peace efforts, Abdelatty stated that Cairo has spared no effort in pursuing a ceasefire since the outbreak of the war.

He noted that Egypt is actively securing a sustainable truce in three phases.

Moreover, he revealed that an agreement had been reached with the Palestinian side to establish an independent, non-factional committee to temporarily govern Gaza, paving the way for the Palestinian Authority’s full return to the enclave.

FM Abdelatty reported that Egypt is training Palestinian police forces in preparation for their deployment in Gaza.

During his speech, the foreign minister also issued a strong warning against any Israeli aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque, emphasizing the need to uphold its historical and legal status and protect worshippers from violations.

The meeting witnessed unanimous support for the outcomes of the extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo, with widespread endorsement of the Arab plan for Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction.

The initiative was recognized as a comprehensive effort to restore normalcy for the Palestinian people.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting formally adopted the summit’s resolutions, urging the international community and financial institutions to support Gaza’s reconstruction urgently.

The OIC also reaffirmed the need for launching a credible political process to achieve a just and lasting solution that fulfils the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people in establishing their independent state.
