According to a statement by the Egyptian presidency, President Saied expressed his country's support for the plan, which paves the way for the initiation of reconstruction without displacing Palestinians.

Both presidents reviewed Egypt's efforts to solidify the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the strip.

Additionally, they reaffirmed their categorical rejection of Palestinians’ displacement from their land and the liquidation of their cause.

According to the statement, President El-Sisi stressed that the only guarantee for achieving lasting peace in the region was the establishment of a Palestinian state along the borders on 4 June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

On 4 March, an emergency Arab Summit in Cairo adopted Egypt's plan for reconstructing the Gaza Strip.

In an interview on BBC Newshour on Wednesday, Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tamim Khalaf said the three-phased plan, which costs $53 billion, would repair the extensive destruction caused by Israel over the past 16 months and alleviate the suffering of 2.4 million Palestinians who endured an ‘unspeakable humanitarian tragedy.’

On Saturday, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) voted to back the Arab plan for rebuilding Gaza.

On Saturday, the EU adopted the Arab plan.

The two Presidents reiterated their commitment to Libya and Syria's stability, unity, and sovereignty over their territories and to protect their peoples from the threats of conflict and division.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various areas.
