IMF completes Egypt’s EFF programme 4th review, approves new 1.3 bln RSF loan

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board completed on Monday the fourth review of Egypt’s economic reform programme supported by the EFF arrangement, the IMF announced Tuesday.

This gives Egypt immediate access to about $1.2 billion.

In addition, the IMF Executive Board approved the authorities’ request for an arrangement under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF), with access to about $1.3 billion. The executive board also concluded the 2025 Article IV consultation with Egypt.

The IMF has not provided more details about the RSF programme and the schedule of the reviews and tranches disbursement. Yet, the fund noted that more details would be announced later.
