In recent statements, the head of OPE — the company responsible for developing the Pyramids plateau — said that the area’s official inauguration is scheduled for 3 July, coinciding with the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
He said that this initiative aimed to develop the Giza Pyramids area and improve visitor experiences, noting that the revamped site will help attract more tourists to Egypt.
Additionally, he described this milestone as a significant step in developing one of the world’s most iconic tourist destinations.
OPE has been working on developing the Pyramids plateau under a 2018 cooperation protocol with Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities, part of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
In November 2024, Gazarin announced that OPE plans to invest an additional EGP 500 million to complete the development of the Pyramids area, bringing its total share in the long-awaited project to EGP 1.5 billion.
