Abdelatty emphasized the importance of strengthening trade and investment ties between Egypt and the UK, pointing out that trade between the two nations nearly reached £5 billion last year.

He expressed eagerness to deepen this cooperation, particularly in attracting more British investments to Egypt.

Abdelatty outlined the Egyptian government's steps to foster a more business-friendly environment, enhance the investment climate, and address foreign investors' obstacles.  He also reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to the private sector's vital role in driving economic activities.

Egypt's top diplomat stressed the need to build on the December 2020 signing of the Egypt-UK Partnership Agreement and the January outcomes of the Egypt-UK Association Council meeting.

During that meeting, Egypt and the UK agreed to resolve any outstanding issues to facilitate better export access for both nations' markets.

Minister Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the UK in key sectors, including higher education.

In February, a high-level delegation from UK universities visited Egypt to explore academic collaborations, focusing on transnational education and research partnerships.

Meanwhile, he pointed out that Egypt remains a top destination for British tourists and expressed a desire to increase the flow of UK visitors further.
