According to the Egyptian presidency, the two leaders, in a phone call, condemned Israel’s renewed aggression against Gaza, which has led to the deaths and injuries of hundreds of civilians, including women and children.
They also stressed that the recent Israeli military actions constitute a blatant violation of international law and a breach of the ceasefire agreement, highlighting that these attacks are part of a systematic effort to make Gaza uninhabitable and force its Palestinian population to be displaced from their land.
Overnight attacks, which caused the deaths of 413 Palestinians and injured over 500, marked Israel’s most violent breach of the truce that took effect on 19 January.
President El-Sisi and the Kuwaiti emir urged the international community to uphold its responsibilities by pushing for an immediate ceasefire, advancing the two-state solution, and ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
According to the statement, they underscored that this remains the only viable path to securing lasting peace in the Middle East.
During the call, President El-Sisi reaffirmed the deep-rooted and enduring historical ties between Egypt and Kuwait, commending Kuwait’s advancements under Sheikh Meshal’s leadership.
In response, the Kuwaiti emir sincerely appreciated the strong relationship between the two nations and reiterated his commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across all sectors.
